“Studies show that most people gain weight in certain places – mainly bakeries and fish & chip shops.”
Although the weight loss – calories in versus calories out – formula is pretty straightforward, there are lots of different ways of executing it.
Much like a jigsaw, you will have some, but not all of the pieces you need. My role is to help you complete the picture. I don’t promote any one specific way of eating or a particular diet but take a more personal approach depending on your lifestyle and preferences, strengths and weaknesses.
The bad news is that if you are looking for a quick-fix I can’t help you. You didn’t gain this weight overnight and you won’t reverse the process that quickly either. From day one I will tell you the truth about what it will take to get both your mind and body into shape and if I don’t think you are ready to make the changes I will say so.
The good news is that if you are prepared to take a sensible and sustainable approach you will be successful. These are the areas that need looking at:
Mastering nutrition - The quality and quantity of food and drink that you consume
Activity and exercise inertia – The moving about (or lack of) that you do
Emotions, handling habits and changing attitudes – This is the puzzling bit for most people. Why is it that you know what to do but don’t do what you know? What is going on between your ears that holds you back from getting the first two right?
